What Can I Say? I Like Challenges...
I was sent this link. At first glance, I wasn’t so sure about it. Veggies, exercise and water… awesome. But veggies before breakfast?! Ugh… The more I thought about it though, the more I liked the idea. I’m a competitive person and when I see healthy challenges like this, it’s kind of hard for me to pass them up. So, starting tomorrow I’ll be eating 6 cups of...

Lesson from a three year old
Say “I love you” whenever you feel compelled to with no worry of how the other person will react.

A Goal That Has [Almost] Been Met
Back in the beginning on January I said that by the end of February I wanted to be able to do 10 standard push-ups. As of today I can do 7 push-ups in a row. Aw yeah! It’s not 10, but it’s getting there. And I know February isn’t over, but I have a feeling that I won’t be able to do three extra push ups in only two days. I’m thinking that at some point in March...

I have a question about kashrut. Would a vegan restaurant need a hechsher to be acceptable for Jews to eat at?
Since there’s no meat involved. Like, anything involved in vegan cooking would be kosher to begin with, wouldn’t it? (Maybe not around Pesach, but generally). I don’t think I know enough about veganism or kashrut to explain this tbh. Anybody know the halacha around...

WHENEVER POSSIBLE
plantbasedlife:
substitute vegetable broth for oil.
I’ve never heard this tip before, but if it’s true, I like it. However, if you do sub with veggie broth, make sure it’s homemade. Otherwise you’re just removing the fat, but adding extra salt.
Only hang around people that are positive and make you feel good. Anybody who...

Adon Olam
I have started singing “Adon Olam” every morning with Asher. He loves it and he likes me to read the English part to him too. And every time I read the English… I don’t know… I just start tearing up. Those of you who know me personally know that I am not an openly emotional person and, though I have become more emotional since having children, tearing up from a prayer...

[vegan] day...whatever
Haven’t been keeping up with posting my meals, but I assure you, I am still eating vegan. Plus, I have basically the same thing for breakfast and lunch everyday. Didn’t want to bore you any more than I already do.

Random Thought
With all the information now available to us laymen on the internet, there’s just as much misinformation available as well. Google can be your friend, but it can also make you look like a huge idiot. Understand what you’re looking at before sharing it with the world.

[Vegan] Day 3
After a night of Kovi waking up multiple times, I was too tired to photograph my oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries this morning. And tonight is Shabbat so I won’t be able to take a picture of the French bread (minus the egg wash - trust me, it’s unnecessary), roasted yellow pepper and corn bisque (from Veganomicon) and fudgy wudgy blueberry brownies (from Veganomicon). Because...
