My date with Asher.

We need to learn to speak our truth without being attached to what that truth will do to other people. After all, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, we might as well have no opinions at all.

We’re hosting both of the night meals for Shavuot (and having the day meals at my parents’). Here’s the menu for both of the night meals. 

Whole wheat sandwich bread

Double pea soup

Portobello burgers and onion strings - I do not like mushrooms (unless I’m pregnant with Kovi). This is for everyone else. 

BBQ seitan - With a homemade BBQ sauce. SO GOOOOOOD!

Quinoa and black bean vegetable salad

Cucumber salad

Southwestern corn pudding

Fudgy wudgy blueberry brownies

No Wheat chocolate chip cookies

The Jewish mother in me thinks that this won’t be nearly enough. *sigh*

Heaven in my mouth…I mean Pomegranate Chip non-dairy ice cream. Best thing ever!

I don’t eat much processed food, but when I do, it’s this. Nom nom nom. (I could use a drolling Homer Simpson gif about now…)

L- Basmati rice with “gee whiz spread” (homemade) and vegetables

D- Quinoa pasta with veggies

[Mon] B- Tofu scramble and vegan French toast

L - Sunflower seed butter/fruit burrito and peas

D - Quinoa and black bean salad

[Tue] B- Fruit pizza

L - BBQ seitan and kale chips

D - Quinoa and black bean salad

[Wed] B - Oatmeal (same as Sunday’s) and sneaky Dad’s pudding

L - Refried beans on tortillas with a raw salsa and avocado

D - Stir fried veggies with lentils

[Thur] B - Blueberry chia pudding and diner fries

L - Chick pea patties and popcorn caulflower

D - Stir fried veggies with lentils

[Fri] B - Whole wheat blueberry muffins and fruit

L - Grilled “cheeze” sandwiches and grated veggies (trying something new to see if Asher will eat it…)

D - No knead whole wheat sandwich bread, vegan corn chowder with roasted pablanos and lemon squares

[Sat] B - Whole wheat blueberry muffins and fruit

L - Red bean hummus, no knead whole wheat sandwich bread, messy rice, bean balls with pesto sauce, roasted beets and lemon squares

Started off the day right with some yoga. Ah…

Nursing Kovi right now, then going to make some tofu scramble (Asher lerves this stuff!) and vegan (a-der!) French toast for breakfast.

Hooked up the bike trailer yesterday, so after brekkie - yeah, I called it brekkie - we’re going for a bike ride.

Trail mix (homemade granola, sunflower seeds, almonds and dark chocolate chunks), popcorn, bean and corn salad (made by my Mom), Asian salad (made by my Mom), veggies and hummus, water and vegan cupcakes with vegan “buttercream” frosting

[Monday]

B. Trail mix with coconut milk (for the boys)/almond milk (for me)

L.  BBQ seitan (seitan and bbq sauce are both homemade) and sweet potato fries

D. Homemade refried beans and salsa on a corn tortilla

B. Autumn latkes and high protein quinoa almond berry salad

L. Chick pea cutlets and popcorn cauliflower

B. Strawberry shortcake stacked pancakes and tofu scramble

L. Spaghetti and lentil meatballs with homemade tomato sauce (pureeing some spinach into it and thinly dicing some other veg in it with the hope that I can sneak some veggies into Asher…)
